Ryan Westmorealnd soxprospects.com/players/westmoreland-ryan.htmAge: 19 Born: April 27, 1990 Portsmouth, RI Height: 6-2 Weight: 212 Bats: Left Throws: Right Drafted: 5th round, 2008 How Acquired: Draft High School: Portsmouth (RI) ETA: 2013 MLB Comparison: Grady Sizemore Scouting Report: Local product was one of the top New England high school players in 2008. A true five tool talent with tremendous upside. Sturdy, athletic build with the ability to add strength. Open stance. Keeps his hands high around his helmet and goes into a bit of a crouch as the ball approaches. Smooth and quick swing. Patient and selective - waits for his pitch. Above average power potential with a terrific approach. Hits to all fields. Elite speed with excellent base-running skills. Strong arm with excellent outfield range. Very intelligent.

Ryan Kalish soxprospects.com/players/kalish-ryan.htmAge: 21 Born: March 28, 1988 Shrewsbury, NJ Height: 6-0 Weight: 200 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 9th round, 2006 How Acquired: Draft High School: Red Bank Catholic HS (NJ) ETA: Late 2010 MLB Comparison: Kosuke Fukudome Scouting Report: Excellent athlete with a solid build, good bat speed, and lots of quickness. Leadoff hitter potential. The organization has worked with Kalish on his plate patience, and over time he has come to demonstrate a very good approach at the plate. Not a ton of present power, but he does have decent power potential. Groundball hitter, could stand to hit more liners. Hits to all fields. Does not have top-flight speed, but is fast enough to swipe a lot of bases due in part to great acceleration and intelligence on the basepaths. In the field, he has excellent range, an average arm, and average accuracy.

Lars Anderson soxprospects.com/players/anderson-lars.htmAge: 22 Born: September 25, 1987 Oakland, CA Height: 6-4 Weight: 210 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 18th round, 2006 MLB Comparison - Carlos Delgado Scouting Report: Tall slugger with a great hitter's frame, excellent present power, and an elite power ceiling. Extremely smooth and fluid swing. Impeccable batting eye with very good patience at the plate, he actually could stand to be a little more aggressive. Hits especially well to the opposite field, but can also pull the ball on occasion. His swing is tailor-made for Fenway. Still strikes out too much, particularly against off-speed stuff from more advanced pitchers. Has shown a few streaks where he struggles at the plate for weeks at a time, occasionally looking overmatched. Athletic for his size, plays well defensively at first base. Digs throws in the dirt well. Makes some nice diving plays, but still can look awkward at times. Mediocre range. Not a stolen base threat, speed is below average. Takes instruction well and learns fast. Strong work ethic. Intelligent and confident. Likely would have been a supplemental first round pick in 2006 if not for high bonus demands.

Solid overall approach at the plate, good eye, quick bat speed, impressive timing. Gap power to all fields. An excellent defender with a solid arm and surprising lateral quickness for his size. Outstanding instincts and fundamentals. Said to be a leader by example and a great teammate

Jose Iglesias soxprospects.com/players/iglesias-jose.htmAge: 20 Born: January 5, 1990 Havana, Cuba Height: 5-11 Weight: 175 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: Not drafted How Acquired: International free agent (Sept. 2009) ETA: Late 2012 MLB Comparison - Orlando Cabrera Scouting Report: Plus plus glovework. Plus arm. Range is also plus, but there have been varying reports. Excellent instincts. Has the makings of a Gold Glove shortstop. Also able to play second and third base. His bat is a question mark at this point, particularly power-wise, and he's not likely to add much more bulk to his frame. Pull hitter. Needs to improve strike zone judgment and overall patience at the plate. Average-to-above-average speed.

Stolmy Pimentel soxprospects.com/players/pimentel-stolmy.htmAge: 20 Born: February 1, 1990 San Cristobal, DR Height: 6-3 Weight: 186 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: Not drafted How Acquired: International free agent (July 2006) ETA: 2012 MLB Comparison: Anibal Sanchez Scouting Report: Pimentel has a nice pitcher's frame and a high ceiling. Relies a lot on his four-seam fastball, but also makes use of a very good curveball and an excellent changeup. Just starting to develop a two-seam cutter as well. His fastball sits at 90-92 mph now and tops out around 93 mph. If he fills out his frame, his fastball could sit around 92-93 mph and top out at 95 mph. Pimentel's changeup is very advanced for his age, sitting between 78-82 mph, and has the potential to be a wipeout pitch. 12-6 curveball has the tendency to create a lot of swings and misses, and sits around 76 mph. Curveball has plus potential, but right now he tends to hang it a bit too often. Aggressive - throws strikes with very good command. Also has decent control, he's not going to issue a lot of free passes. 3/4 arm slot, maintains velocity well. Smooth delivery. Learning English at a good pace.

Luis Exposito soxprospects.com/players/exposito-luis.htmAge: 23 Born: January 20, 1987 Miami, FL Height: 6-3 Weight: 215 Bats: Right Throws: Right MLB Comparison: Chris Snyder Scouting Report: Catcher out of Florida with a strong, broad frame. Has the potential to be an everyday catcher at the major league level, but still needs a lot of fine tuning. Offensively, he's relaxed at the plate without much action before the pitch comes at him. He's got a long follow through and a swing that generates a lot of lift on the ball. Makes solid contact. Doesn't strike out too much, but can struggle with breaking pitches on occasion. Decent present power with the ability to add even more pop; has 25 home run potential. Plate discipline isn't great, but he's shown improvement. He has a long swing, and shortening it up will be key to success at higher levels. Below average speed. Behind the plate, Exposito has quality catcher's tools, including very good blocking skills, a strong arm, and good instincts. Drafted: 31st round, 2005 How Acquired: Draft College: St. Petersburg High School: Champagnat Catholic (FL) ETA: 2011

Che Hsuan Lin soxprospects.com/players/lin-che.htmAge: 21 Born: September 21, 1988 Hualien, Taiwan Height: 6-0 Weight: 180 Bats: Right Throws: Right MLB Comparison: So Taguchi Scouting Report: Spectacularly athletic center fielder likely would have been a supplemental first round pick in the 2007 draft had he been eligible. Quick, strong wrists. Contact rates are average to below average. Some gap power, hits well to all fields when he gets the bat on the ball. He's struggled with off-speed pitches early on. Makes use of a leg kick as a timing step, which has led to some balance issues. There is a lot of movement to it, with his foot going backwards and then forward. Could stand to simplify his approach to lessen his susceptibility to off-speed stuff. Plus plus speed and good intelligence on the basepaths. Exceptional glove and range in center to go along with plus plus arm strength and accuracy. One teammate commented positively on Lin's range, stating that it looks like Lin is "gliding on roller skates" in the outfield

Felix Doubront soxprospects.com/players/doubront-felix.htmAge: 22 Born: October 23, 1987 Carabobo, Venezuela Height: 6-2 Weight: 165 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: Not drafted How Acquired: International free agent (July 2004) ETA: Late 2010 MLB Comparison: Ted Lilly Scouting Report: Doubront utilizes an 87-91 mph fastball, a very good 79-81 mph changeup with screwball action, and a developing mid-70s curveball. Flawless and fluid downward pitching motion with excellent control. Deceptive delivery, hitters don't pick up the ball until late, causing his fastball to look a little faster. May have the ability to add some velocity. Used to struggle against left-handed batters, but seemed to fix this issue in 2009. He has a reserved and modest demeanor, but is aggressive and poised on the mound. Sometimes has the tendency to leave the ball up in the zone too much, giving up too many home runs. Athletic and agile in the field.

Tim Federowicz soxprospects.com/players/federowicz-tim.htmAge: 22 Born: August 5, 1987 Apex, NC Height: 5-11 Weight: 200 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 7th round, 2008 How Acquired: Draft College: North Carolina MLB Comparison: Gerald Laird Scouting Report: Well-built catcher's frame with a strong core. Line drive hitter with decent power potential. Makes good contact, mediocre plate discipline. Behind the plate, Federowicz presently is above average defensively, and has the tools to develop into a very good major league defensive catcher. Extremely strong and accurate arm with a quick release. Outstanding at throwing runners out. Quick instincts. Calls a good game and handles the pitching staff well. Working on refining his blocking skills. Average speed (pretty good speed for a catcher).

Reymond Fuentes soxprospects.com/players/fuentes-reymond.htmAge: 19 Born: February 12, 1991 Manati, PR Height: 6-0 Weight: 160 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 1st round, 2009 MLB Comparison: Jacoby Ellsbury Scouting Report: Athletic center fielder plays the game at full tilt, the type of player that will make a lot of highlight reels. Wiry frame. Line drive hitter, makes excellent contact, without a ton of present power. Excellent swing mechanics. Plus plus speed. Excellent range and glove in the outfield, projects to stay in center. Fluid, gets good jumps on the ball. Below average arm. Cousin of Carlos Beltran.

Yamaico navarro soxprospects.com/players/navarro-yamaico.htmAge: 22 Born: October 31, 1987 San Pedro de Macoris, DR Height: 5-11 Weight: 170 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: Not drafted MLB Comparison: Juan Uribe Scouting Report: Not initially a heralded signing, Navarro has impressed the Sox brass during his rise through the organization. He has an athletic build for a shortstop, with a little bit of bulk. At the plate, he makes good contact and generates good loft off his bat, resulting in a lot of liners. Quick wrists, nice bat speed. Hits fastballs better than breaking balls. A little too aggressive at the plate, could stand to take some more pitches. Average speed and good power for a middle infielder. In the field, he plays second base, third base, and shortstop more than adequately. Hs a sure glove, an above-average arm, and decent fluidity

David Renfroe soxprospects.com/players/renfroe-david.htmAge: 19 Born: November 16, 1990 Batesville, MS Height: 6-3 Weight: 200 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 3rd round, 2009 How Acquired: Draft High School: South Panola (MS) ETA: 2014 Photo courtesy of player Scouting Report: Solid offensive approach with a terrific baseball acumen. Average-to-above-average present power with potential to add more down the line. Hits to all fields with a smooth swing and good bat speed. Athletic, but speed is just average or a tick above average. Smart in the field and on the basepaths. Very good glove with average-to-above-average range. Plus arm. Probably projects as a third baseman down the line, especially if he grows into his frame. MLB Comparison: Aaron Boone
