Drake Britton soxprospects.com/players/britton-drake.htmAge: 20 Born: May 22, 1989 Magnolia, TX Height: 6-2 Weight: 200 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 23rd round, 2007 Scouting Report: Britton's fastball sits around 92 mph, tops out at 94, and shows some good life on occasion. Leaves it straight and up in the zone a little too often, where it can get knocked around. Also makes use of a plus mid-70s 12/6 curve that has the potential to be a plus plus pitch. Has an 80 mph changeup that needs work, but it's coming along. Three-quarter delivery. Control and command are inconsistent. Needs to work on sustaining velocity. When he gets flustered he can show his pitches too much. High ceiling.

Bubba Bell soxprospects.com/players/bell-bubba.htmAge: 27 Born: October 9, 1982 Paris, TX Height: 6-0 Weight: 195 Bats: Left Throws: Right Drafted: 39th round, 2005 Scouting Report: Bell plays the game at full tilt, making him a perennial fan favorite. All five tools are above average but none spectacular. Above average power, hits well to all fields. Very good plate discipline. Takes advantage of mistakes. Decent speed for his build, which is somewhat stocky, perhaps Trot-Nixon-esque. Plays all positions of the outfield well, fits well in center or in right as he has a strong arm. Good range. One of the most well-liked teammates in the organization.

Ryne Miller soxprospects.com/players/miller-ryne.htmAge: 24 Born: September 25, 1985 North Richland Hills, TX Height: 6-4 Weight: 205 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: Not drafted How Acquired: Undrafted free agent (July 2007) Scouting Report: Closer in college. Good athlete, also played football. Fastball sits at 90-91 mph and tops out at 95 mph. Also makes use of a 12/6 curveball that he can throw in any count, as well as a developing changeup. Control has really improved after struggles in 2008. Came into camp in 2009 in excellent shape and made tremendous strides over the course of the season.

Bryce Cox soxprospects.com/players/cox-bryce.htmAge: 25 Born: August 10, 1984 Carrollton, TX Height: 6-4 Weight: 200 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 3rd round, 2006 Scouting Report: 3/4 arm slot. Live bullpen arm with a good 89-92 mph fastball with nice late movement, a solid 78-82 mph slider, and a 79-80 mph changeup that is a rarely-used work in progress. Cox's slider, while outstanding at times, can disappear for periods leaving him without an effective out pitch. Induces a lot of groundballs. Inconsistent command, particularly of his secondary pitches.

Adam Mills soxprospects.com/players/mills-adam.htmAge: 25 Born: November 19, 1984 Big Pool, MD Height: 6-0 Weight: 195 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 8th round, 2007 Scouting Report: Mills possesses four average pitches, but mixes them masterfully with phenomenal command. His fastball sits at 87-88 mph and occasionally reaches the low-90s. Fastball comes in three varieties: a straight four-seamer, a two-seamer with some good late movement, and a nice sinker. Also mixes in a very good changeup, an occasional out-pitch slider, and a solid, but not spectacular, knuckle curve. Groundball pitcher with a deceptive delivery. Consistent. Excellent focus on the mound.

Oscar Tejeda soxprospects.com/players/tejeda-oscar.htmAge: 20 Born: December 26, 1989 Sabana Grande de Palen, DR Height: 6-1 Weight: 177 Bats: Right Throws: Right Scouting Report: Top-notch athlete, lots of tools. Oozes confidence. Ahead of the fold in terms of age-advancement, but still needs a lot of refinement. Excellent bat speed with a smooth swing. Below-average present power, but could add more as he fills out. Plate discipline could definitely use some improvement. Also struggles with off-speed stuff. Above-average speed, but that has yet to translate that into many stolen bases. Average glove at shortstop, decent range, strong arm that's accurate but inconsistent.

Richie Lentz soxprospects.com/players/lentz-richie.htmAge: 25 Born: August 6, 1984 Woodinville, WA Height: 6-2 Weight: 220 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 19th round, 2006 Scouting Report: Big righty underwent TJ Surgery in 2005 and was converted to the bullpen. Four-seam fastball sits around 90-92 mph, but when he's on he can work it in the 94-96 mph range for stints. Lentz also has an average low-80s changeup and a developing 75-77 mph slider. Delivery is a touch lower than 3/4, with somewhat of a slinging type motion. Works from the 3B side of the rubber. Good intangibles. Pounds the zone aggressively. Good control, except for the occasional tough inning - but he can struggle with command within the strike zone. Historically fares better against righties.

David Mailman soxprospects.com/players/mailman-david.htmAge: 21 Born: October 17, 1988 Charlotte, NC Height: 6-2 Weight: 180 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 7th round, 2007 Scouting Report: Pure hitter with a picture perfect swing. All tools are average or above. Good plate patience. Needs to pack on some size to increase his power. Really struggles against left-handed pitching. Above average speed. All-around, a great athlete. Average fielder - played 1B in high school - has played left field and center field with the Sox. Strong arm. Plays the game with intelligence.

Jeremy Hazelbaker soxprospects.com/players/hazelbaker-jeremy.htmAge: 22 Born: August 14, 1987 Muncie, IN Height: 6-2 Weight: 175 Bats: Left Throws: Right Drafted: 4th round, 2009 Scouting Report: center fielder with an athletic frame and plus speed. Hazelbaker had a breakout year in 2009, showing an excellent ability to make contact and solid average power. In the outfield, Hazelbaker has above average range, but needs to work on making reads. Average arm strength.

Brock Huntzinger soxprospects.com/players/huntzinger-brock.htmAge: 21 Born: July 2, 1988 Anderson, IN Height: 6-3 Weight: 200 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 3rd round, 2007 Scouting Report: Big righty with an easy over-the-top motion. His delivery starts off slow but the ball comes out of his hand smoothly, wasting little motion. Very polished and advanced for his age. Fastball sits around 89 mph, tops out at 92 mph, and has some late movement on it. While his velocity is essentially low-90s, it's deceptively fast because of his easy delivery. His fastball topped out at 95 mph in high school, but has lost a little life due to minor tweaking of his mechanics. The organization expects that he might get back up to 95 mph in the next couple of years. Also mixes in a tight slider that sits between 79-83 mph. His slider is a wipeout pitch - when it's up in the zone, it flattens out and almost acts as a slurve. When he keeps it down, less-advanced hitters will look overmatched.

Fabian WIlliamson soxprospects.com/players/williamson-fabian.htmAge: 21 Born: October 20, 1988 Panorama City, CA Height: 6-2 Weight: 175 Bats: Right Throws: Left Drafted: 22nd round, 2006 by SEA Scouting Report: Williamson has very good command of three pitches: (1) a high-80s fastball; (2) a plus 11-to-6 curveball; and (3) a decent changeup. His curveball is by far his best pitch, and will buckle a lot of knees, especially at the lower levels. Strong presence on the mound. Tough and competitive. Deceptive delivery hides his changeup well. Has some room to fill out, could add velocity.

Shannon Wilkerson soxprospects.com/players/wilkerson-shannon.htmAge: 21 Born: July 20, 1988 Dacula, GA Height: 6-0 Weight: 198 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 8th round, 2009 Scouting Report: Athletic outfielder absolutely dominated Division II competition in 2008 and 2009, setting numerous records. Wilkerson demonstrated above average tools in every aspect of the game during his college run, but he'll need to prove himself against advanced competition in the pros. Demonstrates a lot of positive confidence in the field. He hits from an open stance that closes down on pitch approach. Tends to fly open somewhat to get in front of pitches

Zach Daeges soxprospects.com/players/daeges-zach.htmAge: 26 Born: November 16, 1983 Harlan, IA Height: 6-4 Weight: 220 Bats: Left Throws: Right Drafted: 6th round, 2006 Scouting Report: Daeges has a huge lower body and a spread out stance. His swing has big extension on it and he turns on the ball pretty well, finishing up with his top hand off the bat. He's an all-around good hitter with nice line drive power from the left side of the plate. Decent bat speed, outstanding plate discipline - rarely swings at a pitch outside the zone. Picks up a lot of extra base hits due to his strong frame, but just hasn't gotten under the ball enough to hit many home runs (with the exception of his time at Clear Channel Stadium in 2007). However, his plate discipline coupled with his line drive swing has consistently resulted in a high OBP. At this stage, Daeges is below average in the field and has played a lot of DH, but has improved steadily.
